On 4 May 2013 Nidai Soke Okuyama informed us that Kaiden Shihan Kozan Terazawa, one of Hakkoryu’s most senior Shihan had been hospitalized after an apparent stroke.

Terazawa-sama was a long time student and friend of Shodai Soke Ryuho Okuyama as well as being an invaluable friend and advisor to Nidai Soke and was extremely active, teaching Hakkoryu into his 80’s.

While receiving the best of care by his peer, another senior Hakkoryu Kaiden Shihan and expert in medicine, Dr. Ryoichi Obitsu, Director of Obitsusankei Hospital, Shihan Terazawa passed away on 7 May 2013.
