Michael DePasquale Sr. (1925 – 2006) founded the Yoshitsune Dojo in 1961. He received Menkyo Shihan from Shodai Soke Ryuho Okuyama.
His principal instructor for more than 26 years was Hakkoryu Menkyo Kaiden Shihan Junji Saito.
